Your CV / Curriculum Vitae is a marketing tool. Your CV will enable you to promote yourself. When writing your CV look from your prospective employer's point of view. Would you stand out against the competition?
CV Heading
- Full name
- Address
- Telephone number and email address
- Nationality
Personal Profile
This is a short statement to about yourself and your key skills - you do not need to go into lengthy descriptions of your skills (keep this to 3 or 4 lines).
Education / Qualifications
List all your qualifications, particularly those that are related to the job vacancy. If you have more work experience than qualifications, put your work experience before your qualifications. It is important to include dates and details of the establishment where you gained your qualifications and the grades achieved.
Career / Employment History
The majority of employers prefer to see your most recent employment first. Including dates dd/mm/yy, name of employer, location, position held and your duties including any skills, promotions or achievements gained.
Languages
Include details of any languages (spoken/written/understood)
Computer Skills
Include titles of software packages and proficiency level
References Available Upon Request
You can choose to provide these upon request or on application if you prefer.
